Rotary valves are fittings in which the locking element has the shape of a disk and rotates around an axis perpendicular to the axis of the pipeline. It can be used as a shut-off and as a shut-off and control valve. In order to increase the sealing, metal sealing rings are used. The diameter of the cords must be larger than the diameter of the through hole in the housing.
Structurally, the rotary disc gate is a locking organ – a spherical disc made of cast iron GGG40, nickel-plated. To protect against corrosion, the shutter body is painted with a durable epoxy polymer compound that protects the device from corrosion. At the same time, the working medium does not come into contact with the housing.
Rotary valves are widely used on pipelines with large diameters at low pressures of the working medium as shut-off valves. The dampers can be controlled manually, using an electric drive, a piston or a diaphragm drive. In all cases, a manual understudy is provided to control the flap in the absence of an energy source.
